Wellness Hub

What to Expect

Tabbi Eats originally began with the simple premiss to help private clients with their nutritional needs. This is in fact still happening but it has also progressed to a wellness hub. In the Tabbi Eats studio, we now hold nutrition focused cooking classes, candle painting classes and yoga. Our wellness hub has three elements at its core, nutrition, mindfulness and movement.

❋ Nutrition

Our nutrition practice is evidence based and we offer one to one consultations. We create a plan that is suited to your life style and goals. Our services page has more information.

We also offer nutrition focused cooking classes, in an intimate setting, they take place once a month. Bespoke cooking classes can also be created for private groups.

❋ Mindfulness

Doing any thing creative automatically quietens the mind. In a world where the mental load can be crippling, doing something for a few hours that is just creative is essential. Our candle painting classes are intuitive, filled with learning and laughter. Everything you would need for the class is provided.

❋ Movement

Led by our experienced yoga teacher Emma from In To the Fold, all our movement sessions are created expertly by her. Our sessions are then either followed by a brunch or a deeply comforting hot drink.

Dr Mahtab Chenevix-Trench - Founder

Raised in London with Persian roots, I have been a scientist, worked within the Pharmaceutical world and now a Nutritional Specialist. My loves are science, food and travel.

Before my love of food and nutrition took over, my background was in science. I have degrees in Biomedical Sciences and a PhD in Developmental Genetics from King’s College London.

My love for food and initial tutorship in cooking occurred in my Grandma's incredibly cosy kitchen, filled with herbs and spices. Where the three of us (my grandma, mum and I) would cook shoulder-to-shoulder. I have also studied at the Leith Cooking School in London, completing their Nutrition in Practice course and received an Advanced Diploma from Future Fit to formalise my marriage of science and food.

I live in SW London with my well-trained labradoodle Rollo, my less well-trained husband, and my son, who is in training.

❋ The Studio

The Tabbi Eats wellness studio situated in SW11 in between the commons is a calm, homey space set inside a renovated house. Soft natural light filters through, and potted plants create a grounding, lived-in feel. The layout blends cozy communal areas with quieter nooks: a bright kitchen for hands-on classes, a sunlit room for candle painting, and a tranquil studio for yoga.

Offerings:

  • Cooking classes: Small-group, seasonal menus focused on whole foods and practical techniques. Classes cover meal prep basics, balanced plates, and approachable recipes you can recreate at home. Expect a relaxed pace, guided instruction, and time to sit and enjoy what you make.

  • Candle painting: Guided sessions where participants decorate hand-poured soy candles. Supplies and safety instruction provided; projects are suitable for beginners and make thoughtful take-home gifts.

  • Yoga: All-level classes emphasize breath, alignment, and restorative practices. Sessions range from gentle flow to longer restorative classes that include guided relaxation.

Atmosphere and experience:

  • Intimate groups (typically 6–10 people) to encourage connection and individualised attention.

  • Calm, sensory-focused design: soft music, natural scents, and comfortable seating.

  • Refreshments provided after sessions—herbal tea, infused water, or light snacks that reflect the studio’s wellness ethos.

Practical details:

  • Located in a residential-style building with accessible street entry and a welcoming porch.

  • Classes run 60–90 minutes; some weekend workshops extend to half-day sessions.

  • “My husband and I had such a wonderful evening at Tabbi Eats. Her kitchen is beautiful, welcoming, and perfectly set up for hands-on learning. Tabbi guides you through each part of the menu with clarity and enthusiasm, making the experience both fun and educational. What really stands out is how she involves everyone in the preparation and shares her deep, well-earned knowledge of cooking and nutrition gained from personal experience and the Leith Cooking School Nutrition in Practice course. I particularly enjoyed the opportunity to learn about Persian Cooking and Tabbi was very considerate in determining an appropriate menu to accommodate a nut allergy.  It was an inspiring and delicious night — highly recommended!”
